Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
This website is run by New Ross Celtic A.F.C., a community football club in New Ross, Co. Wexford, Ireland (the “club”, “we”, “us”). Its sole purpose is the club’s fundraiser to build a full-size all-weather Astro Turf pitch. The club is the data controller for the personal data described below, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.
2. What personal data we hold
Donor records
When you support the fundraiser, you set up a Standing Order in your own bank using your full name as the payment reference. The club’s committee records each contribution — name, amount, pledge type and date — from the club’s own bank statements. This website does not collect donations, card details or bank details: there are no payment forms on the site, and your banking details never pass through it.
Public recognition
Part of the offering is your name displayed on the supporters’ wall — on the site and at the club grounds. We only show your name publicly where you have agreed to that recognition. If you would rather contribute anonymously, or change your mind later, contact the committee (section 7) and we will hide your name — on the website this takes effect as soon as the change is made.
Committee accounts
Club committee members have password-protected accounts to manage the site’s content (donation records, news, events). For these accounts we store a name, email address, a securely hashed password and session data. There are no public visitor accounts.
Website visitors
The site has no contact forms, no newsletters and no tracking scripts. Our hosting provider keeps standard technical server logs (including IP addresses) for security and reliability; we do not use them to identify visitors.
3. Why we process it (lawful basis)
- Consent— displaying a donor’s name publicly. You can withdraw this at any time.
- Legitimate interest — administering the fundraiser and keeping an accurate record of contributions.
- Legal obligation — keeping financial records the club is required to keep.
4. Where your data lives
Donation records, news and events are stored in a database hosted by Neon (Frankfurt, Germany — within the EU). The website is hosted by Vercel; where Vercel processes technical data outside the EEA, transfers are covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. We use no analytics, advertising or marketing services.
5. How long we keep it
- Donation records — for the duration of the fundraiser and afterwards for as long as the club’s financial record-keeping obligations require.
- Committee accounts — for as long as the member holds a committee role.
- Your name is removed from public display as soon as you ask (the underlying donation record is kept for the financial records above).
6. Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask us at any time to:
- see the personal data we hold about you (access);
- correct it (rectification);
- delete it (erasure, where retention isn’t required);
- limit how we use it (restriction);
- object to our use of it (objection);
- withdraw consent — for example, to stop showing your name on the wall.
We respond within 30 days. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
7. Contact
For any data request or question, ring any member of the fundraising committee:
- Aaron — 086 894 6211
- Bryan — 086 239 0727
- James — 087 330 2042
- Ger — 086 324 6769
- Dick — 086 161 6543
A club email address for data requests will be added here once it is set up.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data — for example, adding analytics — we will update this policy, bump the version number at the top and, where the change affects cookies, ask for your consent again.
